Welcome to the School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG). Our mission is to educate future leaders and public officials across all levels of government dedicated to the good of the nation and ready to serve as stewards of the wellbeing of all Nigerians.

A first of its kind world-class institution for shaping a new kind of public leader, the 33-week program offers a unique opportunity for qualified candidates to be equipped with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values required for effective, disruptive, and progressive public leadership. The program includes a wide range of carefully selected courses comprising 24 modules that are analytically and empirically relevant to solving Nigeria’s, indeed, Africa’s complex development problems.

A. Mode of Study

Our team is committed to delivering an excellent learning experience for all students through our unique combination of facilitators across the broad spectrum of academia, policy, politics, and business, with a proven track record of character, competence, capacity, and determinate work impact.

B. Course Delivery

There are 24 modules offered as a blended course: Online in a first-class Virtual Learning Environment and In-Class. 40% of the modules are delivered by renowned national and international role models and mentors with hands-on practical experience in the sphere of leadership, and 60% by academic experts with in-depth knowledge about the complex processes of political and economic governance in a globalised 21st century. Courses are taught 4 days a week (Tuesday-Friday evenings) with various forms of assessment as well as capstone project work that students must complete to graduate. All modules are compulsory, and each carries a two-unit credit weight.

C. Thematic Areas

SPPG focuses its teaching on seven thematic clusters identified as spheres that are key to the development of a peaceful, prosperous and progressive country in the 21st century:

  1. Politics, Ethics and Leadership
  2. Political Economy and Engagement in a Democracy
  3. Economic and Sector Policies for Inclusive Growth and Shared Prosperity
  4. Good Governance, Institutions Building, and Citizens’ Engagement
  5. Trends in Public Leadership and Innovations
  6. Running for Political Office
  7. Capstone Community Projects

These themes will be delivered in 24 modules.  Learning will be delivered via lectures, webinars, case studies, discussion groups, and community projects.

Tuition & Fees

Application Fees= N10,000.
Tuition Fees = N400,000.
Structured Payment of Tuition Fees available.

Refund Policy: After Acculturation Month Ends

  • If you withdraw during the first through the third week of classes, a 50% refund will be issued.
  • If you withdraw during the fourth through the sixth week of classes, a 25% refund will be issued.
  • After the sixth week of classes, NO refund will be issued If you withdraw.

Outcomes: Certificate in Public Leadership and Policy (CPLP)

A world-class academic education initiative, the SPPG is designed as a 21st century Disruptive Thinking Leadership program to train 5000 new political leaders in five years who will run for elective offices at State and Federal levels in legislative and executive offices, thus presenting the electorate with top quality choices of candidates. The first class commenced in March 2021.

The SPPG aims to attract, develop and produce a new generation of political leaders who will listen and serve citizens who know their rights. These leaders will form the massive base and pipeline of a new and Disruptive thinking political class, known for their Values-Driven Character, Unquestionable Competence and Undeniable Capacity.

With successful completion of all the modules, coursework, capstone project, and participation compliance, students will be awarded the Certificate in Public Leadership and Policy (CPLP).

The CPLP prepares graduates of SPPG to run for elective office and to transform the political ecosystem. The values, knowledge and skills gained will enable our graduates to present a new model of value-based political leadership with the required competencies and capacity to help transform governance at all levels in Nigeria.
