Application into the SPPG is highly competitive and merit-based. In line with SPPG’s commitment to increasing women’s participation in Nigerian politics, female applicants are highly encouraged to apply.
The entire application process will be conducted online, including the submission of all required documents. Applications to the program are assessed by SPPG faculty using a strict set of criteria (i.e., applicant’s prior academic performance and grades, professional background, quality of the statement of purpose, and references).
Each applicant must provide biodata information including name and contact details, as set out on the application form The admission committee will not review an incomplete application.
1. Educational Information
Degree level qualification is required. Applicants must show strong academic attainments such as a Bachelor of Arts, Science, or Higher National Diploma. Applicants are expected to demonstrate thought leadership with a track record of academic excellence and public service in any sphere, sector, or community. Demonstrable successful execution of projects will be of added value.
The admissions committee will review the documents submitted as a whole to approve or decline admission.
Applicants are to upload and list the following:
- Certificate (B.Sc , BA and HND)
- Masters or any other Post Graduate Certificate (if applicable)
- Curriculum Vitae (maximum of two pages)
- Credible Evidence of Community organising experience
- Awards and other certifications
2. Personal Statement
Each applicant is required to submit a 750-word personal statement detailing the following:
- What do you do professionally, and what have been your contribution to society?
- What do you consider to be your most important achievement(s)?
- What is your motivation for applying to the SPPG?
- What do you hope to gain from your time, and what will you bring to the school?
- How will you invest the knowledge you gain from the school back into society?
3. Short Bio* (Not more than 300 words)
Your Short Bio should include your:
– Name
– Age
– Qualifications
– Profession
– State of Residence
– Your current role
– Your major achievements (100 words)
– Your vision for Nigeria (100 words)
– The part you would play in achieving this vision (50words)
4. Letter of Recommendation
Each applicant is required to submit two letters of recommendation as part of the application process. It is advisable to ensure letters come from individuals who can attest to your integrity, leadership skills, and character and who are acquainted with you, your social work, career, and your suitability for the SPPG. All letters must be submitted through the online platform within the specified deadline.
We advise you to give your referees adequate time to prepare your letters.
Recommendations are expected from the following category of persons.
